Key West Car Show

Seems as if there is always something going on here in Key West. This week, it was the Florida Keys Southernmost Car Club Show and Shine. All toll there were about 50 cars ranging from the very new to the very old and it was pretty interesting to walk around and chat with the owners. Here are a few shots of some of the cars on display. Enjoy!!!

Another great day out with a few friends. After the show we took in the Waterfront brewery for some local refreshments. That's it for now, we should be moving over to the full hook up area in a couple more days, so we'll see you then........................

Anniversary Sunset Dinner Cruise

It's been a busy week for us here in Key West. First, our rotation number came up and it was time to move back over to the dry camp area. Scored a pretty good spot again, just one row from the water. However the big event was our Anniversary Sunset Dinner Cruise!!! Yes, call me an ole romantic, but it was the 11th anniversary of our 1st date (Ha!!! lets see how many of you men can remember that!!!) and I booked a Dinner Cruise to celebrate. The food was great and the company of my one and only was even better. Sheryl and I had a great time. Of course, I couldn't head out for a sunset cruise with out my camera, the sunset itself was awesome as usual, but I really wanted to capture some of the schooners which make the evening pilgrimage also. Here's a couple of shots for your viewing pleasure, enjoy.

Next month I'll be booking a sunset cruise on one of the schooners, I think that would be a really cool.

Of course it hasn't been all about taking trips, seeing the sights and moving around, Nope, Sheryl and her friend picked up a couple of blow up lounge chairs, nothing like  floating in the Gulf of Mexico while sipping Champagne from the bottle!!! Ahhhh the Key West life.............................see ya next time.

Key West Holiday Boat Parade

Last night, Key West held it's annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade. Sheryl and I along with friends were able to view it from the Coast Guard Base adjacent to the Old Town Historic Docks. This was the first year the Coast Guard opened it's base to military, retirees and their families for viewing of the parade. We ended up having front row seats, as the boats all seemed to gravitate to our area, even the folks along the civilian docks didn't have the view we did, Score one for the Coast Guard!!!
Here's a few shots from last nights festivities.

Santa and Rudolf were the Coast Guards Entry.

It was a beautiful night and we all had a great time. This came on the heels of an early morning outing to a local (30 miles a way) Flea Market. It was good to get out and about spending the day with friends. That's all for now, thanks for following along, and until next time......................

Key West Sunrise

Woke up entirely to early this morning and decided to try and capture the sunrise. With all the storms moving in and out of the area this week, I didn't know if mother nature would cooperate. She did, just a little and presented us with a small showing through the clouds.

 Key West Fisherman Headed Out

Not a lot has been going on here, just hunkering down through the storms. South Florida has been getting it's fair share, but we are not complaining as we sit here in our shorts and T-Shirts thinking, it could be snow!!! The weather is forecast to get better soon and we have a few activities lined up, so hopefully we'll have more to report. Until then, we'll just enjoy being here and doing a whole lot of nothing. So, until next time................................

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

I was pleasantly surprised  this morning when I found out I had won a photo contest I had entered. The theme was landscapes. This is the winning photo, it was taken at the Yankee Girl Ghost Town along the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado.
