Last night, Key West held it's annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade. Sheryl and I along with friends were able to view it from the Coast Guard Base adjacent to the Old Town Historic Docks. This was the first year the Coast Guard opened it's base to military, retirees and their families for viewing of the parade. We ended up having front row seats, as the boats all seemed to gravitate to our area, even the folks along the civilian docks didn't have the view we did, Score one for the Coast Guard!!!
Here's a few shots from last nights festivities.
Santa and Rudolf were the Coast Guards Entry.
It was a beautiful night and we all had a great time. This came on the heels of an early morning outing to a local (30 miles a way) Flea Market. It was good to get out and about spending the day with friends. That's all for now, thanks for following along, and until next time......................
Glad you enjoyed the parade especially with the front row seats.
ReplyDeleteThe flea market at Big Pine must just be gearing up for the Winter Snowbirds. That's where I was buying L.E.D. fixtures to replace the standard 12 volt incandescent fixtures cheaper than i could buy just the bulbs.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
You are welcome. From your Coast Guard buddy. ;c)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures. No one can do a lighted boat parade like Key West. Sadly, we are not going to be able to get to the Keys this year for the first time in a long time.
