Big Big Oweeeeee
It's been a little bit since our last installment, how ever there's a really good reason for it. If you may remember, my neck and back has been acting up since the first of Jan. Well after X-Rays, MRI's and a trip to the Neurosurgeon, it seems my neck is really jacked up and will require surgery and fusing of at least 3 maybe 4 vertebrae. Currently it is really painful to sit up strait ie: driving, sitting at the computer or sitting up to eat. Anyway, I am going to take a break from blogging for now and until after the operation when I'll be more comfortable. Some nerve damage has already set in and I don't want it to get any worst.
Thanks to all who read our blog and we'll see you back here again later when we can begin traveling again (doc says at least 3 months after the surgery).

GeoCaching a New Hobby
OKC, OK.
Our daughter Kaileigh called us yesterday and asked if we wanted to go GeoCaching with her and Clara. Well we never pass up a chance to spend time with Clara, so of course we said yes. Now we have been out with others a couple of times and watched as they did it, but we never actually got to involved with it. Now Kaileigh and Josh have really taken to the hobby and with today's smart phones you don't even need a separate GPS device. She came by the rig, picked us up and off we went to a local recreation area. Once we arrived it was 100 yard walk through the woods to our first cache. It took a bit of looking but Sheryl found it pretty quick. As you can see she is pretty proud of her first find.
Now the first one we found was medium sized, the rest are what they call micro caches, which can be pretty small and much harder to find. Luckily some stand out a little more than others. We loved the humor in the frog one.
And some can be pretty hard to find, I got lucky and just happened to spot the zip ties holding this one to the branch. What can make it even more difficult is your GPS will usually only get you within a few square yards of the cache, then it's up to your sharp eye to find it, much easier said than done, but that's part of the fun.
If this sound like something you would like to try, we found a free app for your smart phone called C:geo, you can find it in your app store, just do a search for geocaching. The app is linked to Geocaching.com, and you need a login to use it. Go to Geocaching .com and and make yourself a user name (it's free) then go and download the free app, login and you are ready to go! The great thing is the app will locate all the caches near to your location. It also may get you out to places you never thought of going and help you explore the area better. It's a lot of fun, so give it a try!
Update, my toe in healing nicely, however the MRI I had done on my neck shows it's pretty jacked up. Still waiting for my primary doctor to decide if it's bad enough for referral to a Neurosurgeon to just continue with Physical Therapy. So the waiting game begins. Physical Therapy is helping with Sheryl's back issues, which it great!
So that's it for now, it's just been living life and doctor appointments for the last couple of weeks. With the Geocaching were going to try and get out and about alittle more now. So until next time, take care and keep lovin you life as we do ours!!!

Bum Toe
OKC, OK.
Well, if there's one thing that comes with old age, that's old toes and it seems I have two of them. One of my smaller toe nails has become all jacked up over the years and finally started to be pretty painful. With the help of the Podaitrist I tried topical gels to help correct the problem, but it seems the shape of my foot won't let it heal properly, so it was time for it to go.
Sparing you the gorey details, here's the finished product, all rapped up and ready to go. Just have a few weeks of healing and it'll be back to normal, minus one toe nail.
We just walked in from a bit of a scare. I left this post half done and headed to the doctor, she had called and wanted to see me right away. I had an X-Ray done of my neck last week and when she got the results, saw a dark mass on my left lung!!! The mass was toward the bottom of the film so difficult to make out exactly what it was. Well a second X-Ray was taken and it was all clear (thats good) but she'll have the Radiologist take a look at it anyway. I'll also be going in for a complete MRI scan of my back and trunk, nee to find out whats causing the pain in my neck (no, it's not Sheryl....lol) and to clear up any questions about the lung.
Ok, if this is what getting older is like, I think I've had enough, time to go back a few years and maintain a holding pattern there!!!
In the mean time, take care and we'll see you right back here before long.

Lakeside
I was pleasantly surprised the other day, when I looked out the Motorhome's front window and noticed a remote control sailboat on the lake. This is unusual, as there is normally just fishermen around it. It was pretty cool to watch the gentelmen guide the little boat around the lake. An added bonus was, I finally understood how you can sail a boat against the wind, something I could never really grasp until today. As I was watching the boat, a K-9 Officer happened by and stopped to watch for a minute and the shot was captured.
Last night, while watching the news, there was a story of Jupiter being visible and right next to the moon. I went outside and sure enough there it was looking like a bright shiny star right next to the moon. I got the camera out and tried to capture it. Well my Tripod (so I've noticed lately) is not very good and is not as steady as it should be. The shots of the moon and Jupiter turned out blurry and with a shadow, so not very good. Since I had the camera out and mounted, I thought I'd walk out to the dock and get a couple of night shots of the new hospital just across the parks lake. Turned out pretty good, but I need to work on long exposures a bit more, maybe when it warms up a little more, too cold just to hang around outside at night.
Just another couple days in the life, lovin it as we do.

Physical Therapy....it's a Family Affair
OKC, OK.
Sheryl has been going to Physical Therapy for about a month now and her back seems to be responding well to it. She chose PT over the spinal shots that just seemed to be a temporary fix. Now the family affair part, it seems New Years for me didn't start off to well. I woke up New Years Day with what seem to be a stiff neck, that happens from time to time, just figured I slept wrong and it would go away soon. As the days progressed, things just seemed to get worse, causing severe pain in several muscles in my back and right arm, so an appointment was made with my primary care doctor. X-Rays were taken and a referral was given for Physical Therapy. I have been going for a week now and it's beginning to work a little, but it seems you just don't unpinch a pinched nerve. So it seems we may end up staying here in OKC for a little longer than we had planned.
Ok, now the frustrating part. I can understand if I was out doing some fun activity (hiking, biking, hang gliding, etc) but NO, I was sleeping!!! Really!!! Oh well, guess we do what we have to do. So we'll both keep going until we're healthy enough to travel and enjoy it.
That's it for now, until next time, keep Lovin Your Life as we Do Our's, even if it hurts a little more right now....lol.

The Big Move
OKC, OK.
The Big Move....all 30 feet of it! The empty site in the foreground was ours and as you can see we moved all the way to the next one. Why you ask??? Well, it had something to do with the weather, the cold, cold weather.
With the bitter cold nights we have had here in OKC the last few nights and a faulty heat tape, the water spigot just couldn't take it. During the night Sheryl said she had heard a loud pop, I though the light I have in the wet bay may have blown out. I went outside to check the light bulb, only to find a large icicle from the middle of the water pipe, right about where the repairman's hands are. Further investigation found the pipe had cracked. The pipe could not be repaired for a while, so we had to move to the next site down. It actually worked out better for us, as the parking here can be a little odd. In the last site we had to park about 50' away from our site, now we can park right in front of it. Call me lazy, but hey, you know how it is.
That was our excitement for the day, at least we didn't have to pack for a big move. So until next time, we'll see you then!!!
